2015 is off to quite an exciting start here at Loop Commerce! In January, our CEO Roy Erez was invited to speak at L2 Digital’s Clicks and Mortar Clinic in New York City. For those of you who aren’t familiar with L2 Digital, it’s a forward thinking business intelligence service that benchmarks the digital competency of brands and provides data insights into how businesses, including retailers, are performing in e-commerce, social media and more, attracting senior level executives from leading retailers of the industry.
Roy was joined by several e-commerce and retail industry leaders from companies including Coach and William-Sonoma, in a discussion about the relationship between brick-and-mortar stores and their digital assets. The clinic also touched on innovations in retail and how retailers are using digital channels to connect with consumers.
The day began with a lively discussion on retail winners and losers in the digital age, presented by L2 founder and NYU professor Scott Galloway. We listened to an insightful panel featuring retail industry leaders who discussed the “Call of the Mall,” and how traditional brick-and-mortar stores are adapting to the ever-changing retail landscape. The morning wrapped up with start-up CEOs from Deliv.co, Mobiquity and Wanelo sharing their expert insights into shipping and delivery and online/mobile shopping.
In Roy’s session, he discussed gifting, the constraints of buying a gift and the many challenges that come with e-commerce, including meteoric rise in shipping costs as delivery times shrink, as well as return and exchange costs. He presented Loop’s e-gifting solution to the audience and explained how Loop is challenging and changing the fundamentals of e-commerce that affect the way consumers purchase thoughtful gifts, and discussed the benefits that retailers get because of this change in experience. Not only does Loop’s robust SaaS platform allow any retailer to provide a dedicated shopping, checkout and delivery method for gifts, retailers also reap the benefits of cost savings and customer acquisition.
In particular, we observed that attendees were drawn to how Loop is a solution for the Last Mile problem for delivery. By allowing digital shoppers to effectively send any product as a gift instantly, retailers now have a cost effective solution that complements today’s same day delivery logistics, and is actually much more efficient and scalable in many ways.
We are excited to see such a great response from our industry peers and the event’s participants. As digital shopping continues to evolve, it’s relevant that so many like-minded retailers and technology innovators are tackling the problems that the e-commerce evolution has created. We see the same pioneering attitude across our Loop network of retailers and partners, and are excited about broadening the network in 2015.

Loop would again like to thank L2 for a wonderful event, and can’t wait to attend the next one.
