New retailer customers
In exciting news, we’d like to welcome Neiman Marcus and Bergdorf Goodman as the most recent brands to join the Loop Commerce network of retail customers. We are thrilled to offer e-gifting to your customers directly on your online stores, as well as through Loop’s additional new service available on www.loopgift.com.
Gifting data insights
Illustrating the growing popularity of Loop’s e-gifting, and the creation and the evolution of a new shopping paradigm that we like to call “Gift Commerce” or “g-commerce”, we saw a 300% increase in e-gifting orders from Christmas week over the previous year. Most notably, 40% of all holiday related e-gifts were purchased between December 20th and December 25th, strengthening the appeal, and actual necessity, of e-gifting for last minute shoppers. E-gifting also became a top customer acquisition program for our retail customers, as they are seeing triple digit percentages of new customers coming from e-gift transactions.
With Mother’s Day around the corner, there’s much that can be learned and applied from last year. For one, we saw shopping start early, April 15th to be exact. Notably, men and women who shopped early for Mom spent more than those who shopped in May. More so for Mother’s Day than other holidays, we see last minute shopping prevail, with 43% of all Mother’s Day e-gifts last year purchased the day before or on the day itself. Men as a segment is a great opportunity that is much less tapped for many retailers. Loop data shows that 41% of men purchased e-gifts for Mother’s Day last year and spent 25% more than women.

New partnership and service
In December, we collaborated with PayPal to bring our new gift service to millions of PayPal consumers to drive even more value to our retail customers and their shoppers. We partnered with dozens of stores and brands to offer consumers a curated assortment and unique e-gifting experience that complements the service available at online retailers using our e-gifting solution. This new offering is now available at www.loopgift.com, and combines our platform, retail partner network and gifting-related expertise to promote our retailers to shoppers seeking to send the perfect gift.
